Connecticut House Speaker-designate Matt Ritter and House Majority Leader Jason Rojas today announced that State Representative Dan Fox (D-Stamford) has been reappointed Government Administration and Elections Chair.

“Dan was the thrust behind a bill that allowed voting by absentee ballot for all Connecticut residents to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for our most vulnerable, prior to the November 2020 Election,” Speaker-designate Ritter said. “He worked effectively with his colleagues on the other side of the aisle on this very important issue. That is the kind of leadership we’re looking for. I’m very pleased Dan will be serving in this role again.”

“I am honored by this appointment and look forward to working with Speaker Ritter and Majority Leader Rojas and thank them for this opportunity,” Rep Fox said. “I greatly appreciate this committee’s work and am eager to work across the aisle to better the lives of Connecticut residents.”

Majority Leader Rojas said: “I look forward to working with Rep. Fox again. He has been an impressive leader on election law ensuring that our elections systems are administered fairly and with integrity which is essential to maintaining the public’s faith in our voting processes. His experience and deep understanding of government and voting laws will serve the state well. I’m pleased he was reappointed as GAE Chair.”

Fox is a Stamford native and has been serving the 148th District since 2011.
