STAMFORD, CT – David Martin, Democratic Candidate for Mayor, was endorsed by Governor Dannel Malloy, who was joined by all members of Stamford’s state delegation. The endorsement rally was held at UConn-Stamford and attended by over 100 supporters. In his remarks, the Governor made an impassioned argument that Martin is the only candidate who is ready to lead Stamford on day one.
“Let me be very clear,” said Governor Malloy, “David has the skillset, the intelligence, and integrity to be Mayor of this great city of Stamford.”
Governor Malloy was introduced by State Representative William Tong, who echoed the Governor’s endorsement of Martin and called on the attendees to make phone calls, knock on doors, and dedicate their efforts to ensure that Martin wins on November 5.
Martin graciously accepted their support and strong endorsement. “I very much appreciate your endorsement and support as we move forward in the campaign,” Martin said. “I can think of few people who are as dedicated and determined to see this city flourish and prosper.”
Governor Malloy and Martin will join together later this week to attend the groundbreaking for the new Wright Technical School. The school was closed under the Rell-Fedele administration four years ago, but is scheduled to reopen next year.
