BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today goaltender Eamon McAdam has been reassigned to the Worcester Railers H.C. of the ECHL. In addition, forward Jeff Kubiak and defenseman Ryan MacKinnon have been returned on loan to Worcester.
McAdam, 23, went 5-2-0 in nine appearances with the Sound Tigers this season, including five straight wins from Mar. 3 through Apr. 3. He also recorded a 2.77 goals-against-average and .903 save percentage. In the ECHL, McAdam played 29 games for Worcester this season and went 13-10-4 with a 2.84 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. He put together a season-long six-game unbeaten in regulation streak (5-0-1) from Jan. 26 through Feb. 10.
A native of Perkasie, Penn., McAdam posted a record of 15-8-0 in 26 games with the Sound Tigers last season and placed third among all AHL rookies in win percentage. He notched a 2.90 goals-against-average, .897 save percentage and won each of his first seven starts, including his first career AHL victory on Nov. 19, 2016.
Prior to turning pro, McAdam played three seasons at Penn State University in State College, Penn. He recorded a career-best 13 wins, 2.98 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 22 games during his final season in 2015-16. That led to a nomination for the Mike Richter Award as the NCAA's top goalie.
The 6'3, 198-pound goaltender was initially selected by the Islanders in the third round (70th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
Kubiak, 24, played seven games with the Sound Tigers this season and scored his first AHL goal on Saturday against the Providence Bruins. He also collected 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) in 59 games with the Railers this season and notched five points (four goals, one assist) in his last five games prior to his call-up on Mar. 22.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'3, 212-pound forward played each of the last four seasons at Cornell University, collecting 61 points (15 goals, 46 assists) and a plus-19 rating in 116 career games with the Big Red. He established career highs in goals (10), assists (17) and points (34) during his junior campaign in 2015-16 and gathered 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 25 games as a senior earlier this season, while serving as an alternate captain.
A native of Tinley Park, Ill., Kubiak also spent two seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Chicago Steel and Muskegon Lumberjacks from 2011-13. He registered 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists) in 109 games. In addition, Kubiak played in the 2012 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, where he scored the game-winning goal for Team East.
MacKinnon, 23, signed an AHL deal with Bridgeport on Mar. 20, which runs through 2018-19, and played three games with Sound Tigers this season, registering an assist in his AHL debut on Apr. 3 against Providence. Prior to joining Bridgeport, MacKinnon played nine games with the Railers following a three-year career at the University of Prince Edward Island. He recorded nine points (two goals, seven assists) and a plus-five rating with Worcester, including his first professional goal on Mar. 2 against the Wheeling Nailers. MacKinnon made his pro debut on Feb. 27 against the Brampton Beast.
A native of Summerside, P.E.I., MacKinnon collected 48 points (12 goals, 36 assists) and 52 penalty minutes in 82 collegiate games from 2015-18. He was also named to the CIS (AUS) All-Rookie Team in 2015-16 and the First All-Star Team this season.
Prior to playing for the University of Prince Edward Island, MacKinnon spent four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and notched 107 points (20 goals, 87 assists) in 252 games between the Rimouski Oceanic and Charlottetown Islanders. The 6'0, 190-pound defenseman served as Rimouski's captain in 2013-14 and Charlottetown's captain in 2014-15, skating alongside New York Islanders forward Ross Johnston.
