National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Stamford/Greenwich will be hosting a presentation, “Calling for Help in a Psychiatric Crisis: When to Call, Whom to Call and What Will Happen When You Call.” The talk will provide information from four experts on police response and mobile response team services to psychiatric crises within the community. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Tully Health Center on October 21, from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Tully Health Center is located at 32 Strawberry Hill Court in Stamford.
The meeting will feature panelists Dr. Paul Turner of Mobile Crisis Services for the F.S. DuBois Center; Dr. Deborah Matthews, Director of Crisis Services for the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut; and Sergeant Joe Kennedy and Officer Andy Perniciaro of the Stamford Police Department.
