Stamford, CT - The Loft Salon and Spa hairstylists and makeup artists took an entire day off from work to give back and make a difference. Over a dozen high school young girls lined up to have hair and makeup applied and to prepare for their annual fundraising fashion show called “Fashion for Change.” While dozens of preschoolers looked on with adoration, The Stanwich School girls repeatedly complimented one another and expressed how beautiful each one looked. “The girls were so kind to one another and it was our privilege to be part of such a great cause,” said Donna Lysobey, Senior Stylist at The Loft Salon and Spa.

The show featured Stanwich School students from grades PreK through 12 wearing fashions from the collections of Jolie Gotique, Stella M’Lai, Winged Money and Vineyard Vines. Hair and make-up was styled by The Loft Hair Salon and Spa and music from Dexter Fisch, DJ from Arch Street (Greenwich Teen Center) entertained the audience.

An assemblage of 50 students and faculty spent the evening of January 20th modeling an array of fashion pieces in the school-turned-runway to help raise monies for the school’s annual fundraiser. This annual event has been coined as “Fashion for Change” and it is an annual fundraiser for Project Blessing a long-term initiative of The Stanwich School that includes the creation of a water system and a school in Cybatanzi, a rural Rwandan community. Every summer, Project Blessing founder and Stanwich Upper School Science teacher Shaun Fletcher, leads students and alumni to Rwanda to aid in the construction and implementation of these plans.
