Bobby Valentine is endorsing Mike Pavia as his choice for mayor
Stamford favorite son Bobby Valentine is endorsing Mike Pavia as his choice for mayor. In returning home to Stamford after six years managing the Cibote Lotte Marines in the Japanese professional baseball league, Valentine is excited to be home in time to pull the mayoral voting lever for his respected life-long friend, Mike Pavia.

“As the owner of Bobby Valentine’s Sports Gallery Café for 29 years, I recognize the daily issues we face. I look forward to helping Stamford during these difficult times emerge again in a leadership role. Strong leadership from our mayor is essential and on that basis I support Mike Pavia,” Valentine said in a letter of support. “I always saw Mike as a leader. I believe that Mike will utilize his management, budgeting and interpersonal skills to best lead Stamford into the years ahead,” Valentine’s letter suggested.

Valentine is an ESPN analyst and former manager of the New York Mets, and the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan’s Pacific Professional Baseball League.

Mayoral candidate Mike Pavia is a lifelong Stamford resident and founder and owner of Stamford-based Pavia Development LLC, a residential home provider and retail real estate management company. His extensive public service to Stamford includes serving as our Public Works Commissioner, Police Commissioner and our first Executive Director of the Environmental Protection. Pavia also represented District 18 on the Stamford Board of Representatives and served on the board of directors of numerous Stamford organizations. He holds a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from New York University.
