STAR’s own Rubberband will perform from 12:00 pm until 2:00 p.m. at a summertime ice cream social to be held at the Lockwood Mathews Mansion on 295West Avenue in Norwalk, on Sunday, June 14th, 2015. Rubberband is a band led by musically oriented staff members Nancy Armstrong and Mark Minnock of STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way and its musicians, percussionists and vocalists include clients from STAR with intellectual and developmental disabilities. STAR has performed at numerous venues including SoNo Arts Festival, Norwalk Oyster Festival, the Norwalk Town Green, Summer Theater of New Canaan, private parties, festivals, band symposiums, private meetings and events. They are known for their energy, enthusiasm and great rock and roll song covers.
The Summertime Ice Cream Social will take place at Lockwood Mathews Mansion from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m on Sunday, June 14th. The afternoon includes music, magic, fortune tellers, games, palm reading, costumed interpreters, treats and a Victorian era ice cream making demonstration. General admission to the event is free, however, there will be a charge for food and some of the activities at the event.
