Nonprofits throughout Fairfield County will have new resources to help them increase impact and build capacity. For the second consecutive year, the Fairfield County Community Foundation (FCCF) will partner with Connecticut Association of Nonprofits (CT Nonprofits) to offer a series of workshops to help nonprofit organizations in Fairfield County. The initiative is funded by a $17,000 grant awarded by FCCF.

“The Fairfield County Community Foundation is pleased to award a second year grant to CT Nonprofits,” stated Yolanda Caldera-Durant, Program Director at FCCF. “There is a major need for affordable and high quality professional development offerings for Fairfield County nonprofits and we will continue to provide this important resource in 2010.”

The training series will include 12 offerings throughout 2010 in Norwalk and Bridgeport. Workshops will deal with such issues as: outcome measurement; finance; team building; marketing, competing for federal grants; business planning; board governance; building corporate alliances; change management; and leadership.

“We are pleased to partner with FCCF to provide Fairfield County nonprofits with affordable expertise that’s practical and inspirational,” said Mark Berardi, Director of Membership Development and Training Services of CT Nonprofits. “Our goal is to offer more solutions to help nonprofit organizations sustain in a time when they are faced with dwindling resources.”

The workshops, presented by a range of nonprofit experts, will be designed for board members, executive directors and development professionals working for nonprofit organizations. Topics will alternate between introductory and advanced level courses.
