Norwalk, CT – Today Mayor Harry Rilling received the official endorsement of the Norwalk Fire Union Local 830. He received the endorsement during a press conference on the steps of the Old City Hall at 41 North Main St. The Mayor was joined by the President and Vice President of local 830 as well as numerous firefighters.
“I proudly accept the endorsement of our local fire union. Those who protect and serve us know that I understand the difficult nature of their job and what firefighters need to do the job right. My years as an officer taught me so many great lessons that I still use today in the management of this city. I pledge to our city's firefighters that I will do all that I can to ensure that you have the tools you need to do you job right and can return to safe to your families after serving our city. These firefighters know that I have their back"
Vice-President of the fire union, Peter Brown said. "Mayor Rilling has continuously shown us the respect that we deserve as city employees over his last two terms. As a long time city employee and public safety official he understands not only the daily stresses that we face, but also, our dedication and service to this city and its residents. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to working with him for another term"
Mayor Rilling has already received endorsements from the American Federation of Teachers, the Working Families Party, Trades Unions, the Police Union, AFSCME and the Norwalk Democratic Party.
