My years as an officer taught me so many great lessons that I still use today in the management of this city. I pledge to our city's firefighters that I will do all that I can to ensure that you have the tools you need to do you job right and can return to safe to your families after serving our city. These firefighters know that I have their back"

Vice-President of the fire union, Peter Brown said. "Mayor Rilling has continuously shown us the respect that we deserve as city employees over his last two terms. As a long time city employee and public safety official he understands not only the daily stresses that we face, but also, our dedication and service to this city and its residents. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to working with him for another term"
