The American Heart Association announced Michael J. Daglio as the new chair for the American Heart Association’s Fairfield County Heart Walk & 5K Run. Daglio is President of Norwalk Hospital and Chief Strategy Officer of Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN). As chair, he will lead Heart Walk & 5K Run volunteer efforts to help raise awareness and funds to fight the number one killer of Americans—heart disease. The event is set for Sunday, April 22nd at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. Registration is open at

Mr. Daglio directs the strategy of the network’s major service lines, system integration, growth initiatives, real estate functions and major partnerships and affiliations with outside entities and health systems.

“The American Heart Association has been on the forefront of groundbreaking research, development, and technologies; new legislation; youth education; and so many other incredible initiatives. The Heart Walk is a great way to support the AHA’s mission while getting healthy,” said Daglio.

Prior to his current role with WCHN, Mr. Daglio was Chief Operating Officer of Danbury Hospital, where he held multiple positions since joining in 2004 as the Service Line Executive for Cardiovascular and Radiology Services. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at Continuum Health Partners in New York City and The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Daglio was the 2005 recipient of the Fairfield County Business Journal’s “40 under 40” award for extraordinary leadership qualities and outstanding professional accomplishments that have made a significant impact in Fairfield County, Conn. Mr. Daglio has an M.H.A. from The George Washington University School of Business and Public Management, and a B.A. from The University of Hartford.
