New Haven, CT - The Greater New Haven Community Loan Fund, (GNHCLF) announced that it received a $15,000 grant from the Citizens Bank Foundation to support the development of affordable housing and foreclosure counseling outreach.

The Citizens Bank Foundation’s generosity will help the GNHCLF increase the volume of loans focused on affordable housing projects, promote neighborhood revitalization efforts in distressed communities and offer a coordinated and comprehensive response to Connecticut residents who are at risk of foreclosure.

“We are honored that the Citizens Bank Foundation has recognized and supported our efforts serving low to moderate income people through community lending and foreclosure assistance,” said GNHCLF Executive Director Carla Weil. “This $15,000 gift will have a long lasting impact on the housing needs of the Connecticut residents and communities we serve.”

GNHCLF is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) working to create and sustain vibrant neighborhoods and communities through its lending and investment. In 24 years of lending, GNHCLF has made more than $51 million in loans for projects that have produced more than 2,300 units of housing for low to moderate income households.
