STAMFORD, CT - Meet Lucinda Riley, author of the bestselling novel, The Orchid House, a sweeping historical saga of an English family and the love affair that almost destroyed them.
The author will discuss her work during the Book Buzz Tea, Thursday, February 16 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ferguson Library’s Weed Memorial & Hollander Branch, 1143 Hope Street. Tea, sandwiches and cookies will be served. Librarians will also introduce other intriguing reads for winter.
Set in an England country house, and spanning from the 1930’s to the present, the novel tells the story of Julia Forrester, who after a personal tragedy returns to the grand home where she spent much of her youth. After finding an old diary, Julia seeks out her grandmother to learn the truth of a World War II love affair that almost destroyed the estate.
Riley lives in rural England with her husband and four children. The Orchid House, to be published February 14, is her debut U.S. novel.
