Norwalk, CT - Save the date Tuesday, April 9, for the sixth annual Norwalk LitCrawl, which this year will benefit Norwalk Reads. Once again the Norwalk Public Library asks for your help to further the arts in Norwalk and to celebrate April, poetry month, by reading a poem at one of our LitCrawl venues. This year’s event will also feature the announcement of Norwalk’s new Poet Laureate.

Select a reading of about 3 minutes or less, including your introduction of why you chose to read that poem, etc. Let the library know what you will be reading by March 29, and include a one or two line bio, that the host can use to introduce you. Also, let them know if you have a preferred venue and the approximate time at which you’d like to read.

LitCrawl 2019 will begin at the Wall Street Theater from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. before moving to Fat Cat Pie Co. from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Free appetizers will be provided courtesy of the restaurant, and a Cash Bar will be available for all attendees.

The Norwalk Public Library is pleased to welcome Nancy on Norwalk as this year’s LitCrawl media sponsor, in addition to the event's other sponsors - Wall Street Theater and Fat Cat Pie Co.

This year’s donations will benefit Norwalk Reads, which has a mission to encourage a love of reading in all Norwalk’s children by enabling each Norwalk child to build his or her personal home library with free books they select according to their interests. Book distributions are held annually to reach out to all Norwalk’s children and their parents at critical times of the year. Norwalk Reads serves 1200 children annually, and has distributed more than 100,000 books to Norwalk’s children since it was founded in 2002.

Encourage your friends to join LitCrawl this year! Tickets may be purchased online by donating $10 to Norwalk Reads at, https://client.pointandpay.net/web/NorwalkPublicLibrary
