The Gala takes place between 6:30 - 11:00 p.m. and will feature both live and silent auctions including sought-after tickets, weekend get-aways, and themed baskets galore. Donations can still be submitted in the form of gift cards, services, or the actual item(s). The League is actively seeking sponsors and offers various levels of promotion for area businesses. Please contact Cheryl Bryant at komar1@optonline.net, should you be interested. Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner, live entertainment, and cuisine provided by Danbury’s Tom Devine of both Ciao! Catering & Events and The Two Steps Downtown Grille. The cost is $100 per person and tickets are currently on sale. Party-goers are encouraged to sport 1920s wear or cocktail attire. “The Lounsbury House is the perfect setting for our elegant Gala. A wonderful turn-out, to include both Gatsby enthusiasts and friends of friends, is expected. The League’s support of local charities will be a group effort, indeed,” said event co-chair, Nanette Giordano. The event’s 2010 beneficiaries include the following: Homes with Hope, a Westport emergency shelter for families headed by single women, Mercy Learning Center, the Bridgeport-based agency which provides literacy and life skills training to lower-income women, Westport’s Project Return HEAL Program, which aids adolescent girls in crisis, and Domestic Violence Crisis Center of Norwalk, a safe haven for victims of domestic abuse. For tickets or to make an auction donation, contact Gala co-chair, Kit Woolverton, at 203.227.7879 or kitwool@yahoo.com. The Weston Women’s League is a volunteer-supported, 501(c)3 non-profit organization and tax-deductible donations can be mailed to the Weston Women’s League, P.O.
