Superman, the musical is a family musical which recreates all of the sound and fun of the 1960's written by the same composer who gave us Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, Applause and many, many more. It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane..It’s Superman is the tale of Superman’s efforts to defeat a vengeful scientist, Dr. Abner Sedgwick, who seeks to destroy the world’s symbol of good. Additionally, there is tension between Superman and a columnist for the Daily Planet newspaper because of the superhero’s attraction to Lois Lane.
"I've been looking forward to doing this show for many, many years," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call's executive director. "And it's a hell of a lot more fun then Spiderman the musical and way less expensive," he added jokingly. A recent NYC production in the Encores series as well as one at Goodspeed Opera House have kept the show in forefront of Ursone's planning.
