Guitar master Buddy Guy is back at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 24, at 8 p.m.
“The guitarists’ guitarist” could be used to describe the prominence of blues artist Buddy Guy. With a rich career spanning nearly 60 years, Buddy is ranked 30th in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. His music is often labeled Chicago blues but can vary from the deepest blues sounds to rock, soul and free jazz that morphs at each performance. Known for his flamboyant showmanship, Guy will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 24, at 8 p.m.

This show is underwritten by De Clerq Office Group. An All Shows.com VIP Party Pass which includes VIP parking, an open bar and hors-d’oeuvre catered by Ancona’s Market is available for this show. Call the Playhouse for more information (203-438-5795).

Buddy Guy’s songbook is so prolific that it is difficult to list all his hits, but his body of work includes “First Time I Met the Blues”, “Stone Crazy”, “T-Bone Shuffle” and “Ten Years Ago”. In 2005, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Eric Clapton and B. B. King. In response, Buddy said: “If you don’t think you have the blues, just keep living.”

For tickets ($90), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
