Dance and Choral Performances, Santa Claus, Magnificent Displays and much more to Celebrate the Holiday Season at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum

Norwalk, CT - On Sunday, December 10, 2017, 12-4 p.m. at 295 West Ave., Norwalk, CT, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will collaborate with Melissa Truelove owner of The Dance Pointe, in Greenwich, CT, Matthew Surapine Studio in Norwalk CT, and North Pole’s Santa Claus to create a special holiday event for people of all ages and several hours of joyous entertainment.

Visitors will have an opportunity to view the exhibit, A Magnificent Victorian Holiday at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, take memorable family portraits, and enjoy music and dance surrounded by the shimmering lights and the outstanding displays throughout the first floor.

During the event, the Mansion’s Café will offer complimentary refreshments served by the Museum’s costumed interpreters generously provided by Stew Leonard’s. General Admission to the Holiday Open House is $5.

Santa Claus with his Loyal Elf (12:30-1:30 p.m.)
Santa Claus and his loyal elf will make their way into the Music Room and spend a full hour greeting children and hearing their Christmas wishes before they head back to the North Pole for their big night.

The Dance Pointe (2- 2:45 p.m.)
In collaboration with Melissa Truelove owner of The Dance Pointe, based in Greenwich, CT, the Mansion will feature Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and holiday inspired presentations by the school’s top students. These performers are also part of The Dance Pointe's international youth dance company who perform in Switzerland and Germany to benefit children with special needs.

Matthew Surapine Studio (3-3:45 p.m.)
Surapine Studio will take center stage and perform a selection of Broadway favorites. Founded and directed by Matthew Surapine, a nationally acclaimed opera singer who has been featured at many of the major opera houses around the world, the Studio has seen its students attend Curtis institute, NYU, Steinhardt voice symposium, Manhattan School of Music precollege programs and an alumnus of the studio is now appearing as the “Genie” in Aladdin on Broadway. Studio students who primarily attend Darien High School, Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, and Stamford High School, have performed in regional and state music festivals.
