A grand-scale Broadway-style production of “The Little Mermaid”, based on the beloved Hans Christian Anderson story, will be at The Ridgefield Playhouse for two performances, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., on Saturday, February 27. The musical is a production of American Family Theatre, Inc., the nation’s premier producer of musicals for families and young audiences.

This full-scale presentation with professional cast and crew is part of the Pepsi Children's Series and underwritten by Wooster School of Danbury. Media sponsor is 98Q, WLAD & Oldies 850. The Little Mermaid’s Union Savings Bank "Arts for Everyone" recipient is Ability Beyond Disability.

A timeless classic, The Little Mermaid’s Mera is given permission to swim from her magnificent undersea castle up to the surface of the ocean for the very first time on the morning of her sixteenth birthday. Some of the other characters in this show include Twinkle, the starfish; Snapper, the crab; Prince Edmond, a human; The Sea Witch and The Sea Urchin. The show features orchestrations and scripts from the best composers and writers in the industry and is offered to you at a fraction of the big-city prices. Don’t miss this uplifting event for your whole family.
