“Greg’s leadership and consistency to lead DYMAX into greater successes for decades to come is why he is being given this prestigious award” said Connecticut SBA District Director Bernard Sweeney. Dymax was originally founded as the American Chemical and Engineering Company in 1979 as Andy Bachmann and his wife Clai were committed to the pursuit of a vision, which was to create an adhesive technology that was environmentally friendly and would greatly increase productivity in industrial manufacturing environments. Due to this they purchased the assets of the Specialty Chemical Company, a division of the Allied Products Corporation. The assets included the DYMAX trade name and a limited product line. They renamed it “The American Chemical & Engineering Company”, and subsequently the name “Dymax Corporation” was formed. Andy and Clai worked tirelessly to develop a new patented line of structural adhesives along with a dozen or so employees at the time. This adhesive technology combined high bond strength with fast fixturing speed, offering significant productivity improvement to manufacturers of electric motors. Fast forward twenty-seven years, In the Fall of 2006, DYMAX Corporation moved to a new 100,000 square-foot facility in Torrington, CT. Current President, Greg Bachmann, is confident that the new facility will support current and projected growth into the next decade. Today DYMAX has over 180 employees globally with additional facilities in Germany, China, Hong Kong, and Korea. Over 30 years after incorporation, the DYMAX mission remains the same; make our customers more efficient by increasing throughput, enhancing quality, conserving energy, improving safety and reducing environmental impact. From the design phase through performance testing, DYMAX personnel routinely assist manufacturers in solving their most complex application problems. With an innovative R & D staff, experienced applications engineers technically-proficient sales managers, and a knowledgeable customer support team enables DYMAX to provide cost-saving assembly and coating solutions to manufacturers in today’s highly competitive environment. DYMAX was recently recognized for its contributions to the United Way of Northwest Connecticut as its employees completed a challenge to collect 2,000 pounds of food to benefit the 7th Annual United Way of Northwest Connecticut Food for Your Neighbors food drive. The United Way award cited DYMAX for conducting the most unique employee incentive program. DYMAX continues to grow despite the long recession America is slowly coming out of. For the fourth year in a row, INC Magazine has identified DYMAX as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the country. Mr. Bachmann will be honored along with seven other small business award winners, at an awards breakfast at Amarante’s Sea Cliff, in New Haven, CT on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. © Copyright by ConnecticutPlus.com.
