The WBDC Business Breakfast is long recognized as the signature women’s business gathering in the state, the event this year will mark the 10th such occasion, and will bring together entrepreneurs, business and community leaders, legislators, and other supporters of women. This is the second year in a row that First Niagara has sponsored this event as the marquee sponsor. “First Niagara is proud to continue our support of the Women’s Business Development Council and this annual breakfast. With the 2012 U.S. Presidential election but a year away from the date of the breakfast, WBDC has made a strategic decision to create a platform on which to engage women and men, entrepreneurs and the corporate workforce, community organizers and CEOs, in a dialogue about bringing positive and critical economic change. To that end, WBDC chose David Gergen as the keynote speaker. He is a former White House advisor from Nixon to Clinton; editor of U.S. News & World Report and frequent TV analyst; and director of the Center for Public Leadership at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. “Closing the leadership gap between men and women is one of the central challenges of this century.
