On June 10th the 2010 Connecticut Business Expo will celebrate its 10th year with an author series, educational seminars, the Nonprofit Heroes Awards and more. The Author Series, which began two year’s ago, will bring three authors who write about small business achievements under one roof while local business professionals present their own success tips. Each of these elements will be held at the new Show Floor Theater at the CT Business Expo which will run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2009 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

Centrally located amongst 200 exhibitor booths, a 200+ seat, open theater will be the hub of the show floor.

Starting at 9:45 a.m., a presentation by Jon Rondeau from New Wave Industries, “What are Apps and Does My Business Need One?” will share the business value of apps and what it takes to create one. At 2:00 p.m., Duane Cashin of Cashin & Company will deliver “A Conversation about the State of Professional Selling,” about the best methods for making sales to executives.

Back by popular demand, The Author Series will showcase the work of three highly experienced and inspirational business writers featuring topics such as inbound marketing, branding and business communications. The schedule includes: Steve Cone at 11:00 a.m.; Ruth Sherman at 11:45 a.m.; and Brian Halligan at 12:30 p.m.

“This will be our third year hosting an author series at the Expo,” Gail Lebert, publisher of the Hartford Business Journal said. “The expert authors will present a diverse range of helpful business tools and tips for CT business owners.”

At 4:00 p.m. the Show Floor Theater will host the 2010 Hartford Business Journal Nonprofit Heroes Awards honoring organizations and individuals making a difference in the nonprofit community with a keynote address by Robin Johnson, the Director of American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women and Chris Montross managing director, Community Relations/Corporate Public Involvement and vice president, Aetna Foundation.
