Guests were invited to officially kick off the artistic installment on May 18th at the Simsbury Chamber’s Art Trail Champagne Breakfast, hosted by Ana’s Kitchen. The new eating establishment, located in the Drake Hill Mall on Hopmeadow Street, recently opened its doors in January 2018 and is led by married couple Ana Oliveira and Jeff Hoberman.
More than 125 people in attendance spilled out the main restaurant door onto the front sidewalk and outdoor eating areas, where they were treated to champagne and gourmet breakfast fare, including poached and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on sourdough, a scrumptious assortment of toast and fruit, and pastries.
The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce and Cigna sponsored the sold-out event, spotlighting the sculptures and their recent appearance across town. Simsbury Bank and other businesses and organizations also contributed generous donations to the Simsbury Chamber Art Trail, which will ensure the financial success of this memorable and historical event in Simsbury.
“We have the opportunity to toast the contributions of everyone who has made our Art Trail a reality,” said Lisa Gray, the Executive Director of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce. “Our Champagne Breakfast has been the most successful event of the season and we know that our Simsbury Art Trail will be the most in-demand destination of the summer!”
The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce will also host guided walking and bike tours of the sculptures on Sunday June 3rd, giving guests an opportunity to appreciate these intricate artistic works from an intimate vantage point, while visiting the many attributes of the town that will house the sculptures all summer long.
There are still opportunities to sponsor the entire project or any of its upcoming events, make a financial contribution, or volunteer for this unique artistic installation that celebrates the little things in life in an extraordinary way.
