Greenwich Kennel Club AKC All-Breed Dog Show, Obedience & Rally Trials

Want to find the perfect family dog or maybe learn a fun way to get that exercise you need with the help of a canine companion? Come to the Greenwich Kennel Club's (GKC) 80th AKC All-Breed Dog Show, Obedience and Rally Trials on Saturday, June 9th. Get up close to a variety of breeds and speak to knowledgeable breeders at the Meet the Breed educational program and Breed Seminars. Learn about that special bond that develops between human and dog when training for obedience and rally trials. See the Best Dogs compete for the Best in Show, High in Trial, Owner/Handler, and Best Puppy awards, and new this year is a K-9 Haute Couture Fashion Show. The show is held rain or shine at Taylor Farm Park in East Norwalk, CT. Judging starts at 8:30 am and runs throughout the day. For more information, go to: GreenwichKC.org.

Meet the Breeds - Come meet, greet and learn characteristics of different breeds, including many Miscellaneous and Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds. As of today, we have the following breeds represented at this important educational outreach program:

• Doggie Fun Zone (S.E. Corner) - Thursday, June 7, 2012 through Sunday, June 10, 2012. Fee: $12.00.
• Meet The Author: Jane Paley, Hooper Finds a Family: A Hurricane Katrina Dog's Survival Tale, At Club Tent.
• Animal Cancer Foundation (ACF), Meet Gerald Post, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) and learn about the latest in veterinary cancer research! At Club Tent.
• 'Rookie' Agility - a non-competitive walk-thru course on collar and lead. 1 for $5.00 or 3 for $10.00.
• K-9 Haute Couture Fashion Show - Travel Inspiration original designs and dog fashions from members of New England Fashion Design on the Greenwich Kennel Club, Inc. Runway.
• Chic Runway Doggies - An open invitation to all pet lovers to dress up and strut your doggie outfits for the world to see. Take your turn on the Greewich Kennel Club, Inc. Runway. Dogs must be on 4' or 6' leash and under control.
• Disaster & Wilderness Ground Search (DAWGS) - Talk with the trainers and meet their dogs.
• Dog Show Tours - A guided tour with explanations of events at the show. Meet at Superintendent Tent.
• Mobile Vet Services - Microchips, Chiropractic Evaluation, Health & Heartworm Chemistry Profiles.
• DNA Clinic - We will assist in the collection of cheek swabs for submission to the AKC-DNA data bank. Painless and quick. We need your dog, AKC registered name and number. Cost $45.00 Cash.
• ICSB-MA K-9 Semen Collection Clinic - Collection, evaluation & storage of canine semen. RV Clinic in Exhibitors Parking area for collections. Advanced appointment required, (508) 761-8525.
• Miscellaneous and FSS Breed Seminars (7) - Schedule at Superintendent Tent. Location, behind Superintendent Tent. Fee: $10.00 each or all for $40.00
