American Red Cross welcomes new board members

FARMINGTON, CT – The American Red Cross in Connecticut is proud to announce the recent addition of six new members to its organization’s Board of Directors. Board members are chosen based on their commitment to the Red Cross mission in combination with their individual expertise, experience, and willingness to serve the needs of the board.

The Red Cross helps Connecticut residents prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It serves more than 3.5 million Connecticut residents in Hartford, Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham counties, plus Fishers Island, N.Y., with services provided by a small paid staff and a team of more than 2,000 volunteers.

The new board members, who bring diverse backgrounds to this leadership body, are:

Lauren Dienes-Middlen, Senior Vice President, Assistant General Counsel – Intellectual Property, WWE
Matthew Duddy, Vice President/Territory Manager, Lamar Outdoor Advertising
Ashley Rendon, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones Investments
Paul Rossi, Managing Vice President, Gartner
Kiaundra Smith, Principal, Hartford Public High School
Julie Sobieski, Senior Vice President, Programming & Acquisitions, ESPN

“We are pleased to welcome six new members to our local Board of Directors,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “Each member brings a sincere dedication to our lifesaving work. We are grateful for their willingness to give their time and expertise to help strengthen our Red Cross mission across Connecticut and beyond.”

Bruno also thanked the board’s outgoing member, William Wilson, for his over ten years of service to the board.
